Beautiful white chocolate disks that look really fancy and posh but are ridiculously easy to make (there are only 3 ingredients!!). Sounds kind of perfect in this busy holiday season. It is also a lovely edible gift idea for friends, family, neighbors, teachers, who ever needs a kind gesture in your life.

I have always really liked the tradition of giving small gifts to people to show our appreciation of them. There are so many people in our lives that we take for granted. People whose mere existence makes our life easier, smoother, more fun or just better in any way. And the end-of-the-year holidays are the perfect time to keep them in mind. Why not with a small package of these lovely homemade chocolates?
A traditional French mendiant is a small chocolate disc covered with four different bits of dried fruit and nuts that represented the four monastic orders in the medieval Europe. In time the recipes have changed and there you can add all kinds of lovely things like seeds or candied fruit peels on top of your mendiant chocolates.
I love the festive colors of these white chocolate mendiants. The dark red of cranberries and the green of pistachios pop so beautifully on the soft white of chocolate. Pretty and delicious is the perfect combination, don’t you think?
This recipe has a total of three ingredients. Plus it takes about 15 minutes to prep, one hour for the chocolate to set and then you’ll need about 2 minutes to make a pretty package. So in 17 minutes of hands-on time you’ll create a beautiful gift filled with these small chocolate palettes that look beautiful and sophisticated and worthy of any chocolaterie box! Kind of cool, huh?
