Turns out that homemade olive oil crackers are super easy to make! They are crunchy, addictively tasty, can easily be turned into so many different variations. Save this easy recipe for your next dinner party.

These lovely crispy sticks only have 5 ingredients and are fun to make. Make sure to include your kids in the process sometimes. They will love brushing the dough with olive oil and getting to choose the different toppings!
One of the greatest pluses (besides the clearly superior taste😜) compared to the commercial crackers is that you know exactly what’s in these delicious bites so you can be confident about what you serve up to your kids or your guests.
These olive oil crackers would be absolutely marvelous served alongside the beetroot hummus, or the tuna dip. Add some carrot sticks, cucumber, a bit of charcuterie and you’ll have yourself a perfect charcuterie to serve up as an appetizer.

Olive oil crackers recipe
Ingredients
- 250 g (2 cups) all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) water
- 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil + 2 tbsps more for brushing
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika / cumin / any other spice of your liking
- A pinch of black pepper
- flaky sea salt
- For toppings: fresh herbs / dried herbs / poppy seeds / sesame seeds
Instructions
In a large bowl, or the bowl of a Kitchen Aid mix the flour baking powder, water, olive oil, salt and pepper. Mix the dough for 5-6 minutes (by hand or using the dough hook) until it comes together in a ball.
Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for about an hour at room temperature.
Preheat the oven to 425˚F / 220C
Roll the dough out straight on the parchment paper. Roll it as thin as you possibly can.
Brush generously with olive oil and using a sharp knife, cut into thin stripes (like on the photo). Choose the length to your liking – mine are about 10 cm (4 inches) long since I like to serve them standing up in a glass.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, fresh herbs, dried herbs, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, etc.

Bake for 5-6 minutes, or until the crackers are golden brown in color. Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container. If there are any left of course😉.
NOTE! If the crackers get a bit stale or soft, just pop them back in the oven for about 10 minutes at 100C / 210F and they’ll be cracking again😁.
